🏒 Game of the Day: Edmonton Oilers vs. New York Rangers

6:00 PM ET | NHL Network (US) · Sportsnet / TVA Sports (Canada) · MSG · Madison Square Garden, New York

McDavid leads the NHL with 37 points (eight goals, 29 assists), and 35 of them came in October, one short of Mario Lemieux’s 36 in October 1992 for the second-highest single-October total in league history. His season-opening point streak reached 14 games in Saturday’s 4-0 win on Long Island. Edmonton, 10-2-2, is on the second half of a back-to-back.

The Rangers, 7-6-1, have lost three straight and are without injured goaltender Igor Shesterkin, which makes stopping the Oilers’ top line even harder.

Prediction: McDavid makes it 15 straight, and Edmonton completes the New York sweep.

Minnesota Wild vs. Washington Capitals

3:30 PM ET | Sportsnet / TVA Sports (Canada) · MNMT · Wild+ · Capital One Arena, Washington

Kaprizov has 499 points in 412 games and leads the NHL with 14 goals. One more point and he joins Mikko Koivu as the only players with 500 for the Wild – Koivu needed 681 games. Washington’s Alex Tuch leads the team with 10 goals and the NHL with five game-winners. The Wild are 9-3-3, the Capitals 8-4-0.

Prediction: Kaprizov reaches 500, but Tuch and Washington win.

Winnipeg Jets vs. Carolina Hurricanes

1:00 PM ET | NHL Network (US) · TSN3 / TVA Sports (Canada) · HHN · Lenovo Center, Raleigh

Carolina, 11-2-2, is 11-1-1 in its past 13 and going for a fourth straight win. If Kochetkov starts, he can become the first goaltender in Hurricanes history to win his first 10 starts of a season. Winnipeg has lost eight in a row (0-6-2) and is 4-7-3.

Prediction: Kochetkov makes it 10-for-10.

Utah Mammoth vs. Philadelphia Flyers

4:00 PM ET | NBCSP · Utah16 · SN1 (Canada) · Xfinity Mobile Arena, Philadelphia

Logan Cooley has scored six goals during a three-game road goal streak, including a hat trick in Thursday’s 4-3 overtime win in Pittsburgh, and has 15 points in 14 games. Utah is 9-5-0; Philadelphia, 3-8-4, has lost three straight.

Prediction: Cooley scores again and Utah wins.

Ottawa Senators vs. Anaheim Ducks

8:00 PM ET | Prime Video · KTTV · TSN5 / RDS (Canada) · Honda Center, Anaheim

Beckett Sennecke has scored in five straight home games, tying the longest such streak by a Duck in 15 years. Anaheim is 5-7-1 and only 1-4-1 at home. Ottawa, 9-5-1, is on the second half of a back-to-back after a 5-1 win in San Jose on Saturday.

Prediction: Sennecke makes it six, but Ottawa wins.

Five games, McDavid at the Garden and a 500th point within reach in Washington. Check local listings for regional broadcast details.
