🏒 Game of the Day: Vegas Golden Knights vs. Boston Bruins
7:00 PM ET | NHL Network (US) · SN+ / TVA Sports (Canada) · NESN · Scripps · TD Garden, Boston
Boston, 10-4-1, has won six of its first seven at TD Garden for the first time since 2023-24 and is going for a sixth straight home win. David Pastrnak passed Patrice Bergeron for sole possession of third on the Bruins’ all-time goals list with his 428th in Saturday’s 5-4 overtime win over Chicago. He is also one power-play point from 300, which would make him the sixth Bruin and only the third Czech-born player to get there, after Jaromir Jagr and Patrik Elias.
Vegas, 9-5-1, opens a four-game road trip after a 5-2 loss to New Jersey on Friday, its third loss in five games. Marner has 13 points during a nine-game point streak.
Prediction: Marner extends his streak, but Boston stays perfect at home.
Colorado Avalanche vs. Chicago Blackhawks
8:00 PM ET | CHSN+ · Altitude · United Center, Chicago
Two No. 1 picks meet for the first time this season. MacKinnon (2013) is tied for fifth in the NHL with 24 points and has eight during a four-game point streak; Artturi Lehkonen has 13 points over his past nine games. Bedard (2023) is tied for the Chicago lead with nine points in eight games since returning from shoulder surgery and has a five-game point streak. Colorado is 8-5-1; Chicago, 4-9-1, has lost five of six.
Prediction: Both stars score, and Colorado wins.
Detroit Red Wings vs. Florida Panthers
7:00 PM ET | Scripps · DSN · Amerant Bank Arena, Sunrise
Anton Lundell scored a hat trick in Friday’s 5-2 win over Winnipeg, Florida’s fifth hat trick since Oct. 1 – the most by a team in one month since Chicago in December 1991. Seth Jones has seven points during a three-game point streak and is third among NHL defensemen with 18 points. Jacob Markstrom returns in goal after missing five games. Florida, 8-4-2, is going for a fourth straight win. Detroit, 6-5-3, gave up three straight third-period goals in Saturday’s 5-4 loss to St. Louis; Viktor Arvidsson needs two goals to become the fifth player with 10 in his first 15 games as a Red Wing.
Prediction: Markstrom returns with a win.
Calgary Flames vs. San Jose Sharks
9:00 PM ET | SN+ / TVA Sports (Canada) · NBCSCA · SAP Center, San Jose
Macklin Celebrini, 20 years and 142 days old, is six points from 200, which would make him the fifth-youngest player to reach the mark behind Sidney Crosby, Wayne Gretzky, Jimmy Carson and Mario Lemieux. He leads the Sharks with 16 points but has not scored since Oct. 20. San Jose is 7-7-1; Calgary, 6-8-0, has lost two of three since its four-game winning streak.
Prediction: Celebrini breaks his goal drought and San Jose wins.
Four games, a home streak in Boston and two No. 1 picks in Chicago. Check local listings for regional broadcast details.
